Memorial Slide Show Video in Tribute to Ray E. Murphy 1942 - 2012
March 23rd, 2013Ray Murphy was Chief Pilot for the Vietnam Helicopters since its inception in September 2010 until he passed away last December. He was commited to our group's mission of flying the Huey as a "thank you" to Vietnam Veterans for their service, and he flew hundreds of veterans during his time with us. Ray Murphy was also much more than our Chief Pilot; he was our mentor and our great friend - we will miss him always.

Mission:
Fly in with a group of Vietnam Veterans and land at the Military Vehicle Collectors of California to the Stockon KOA / Tower Park Resort and put the Huey on static display for the day.
September 12-16, 2012 - Reno National Championship Air Races & Show - Reno, NV
September 16th, 2012Mission:
Fly to Reno Championship Air Races and Show to place Huey '961 on Static Display for the public and Veterans to enjoy.
April 28 2012 - BBQ and Flights for Wounded Warriors in Stockton, CA

Mission:
Fly to Rajkovich property in Stockton and provide Huey helicopter rides to Wounded Warriors and their family members. Vietnam Veterans from Warriors' Watch Riders joined us on the flight to the ranch. We gave five groups of wounded veterans and family rides in the Huey, then joined the BBQ for ceremonies honoring veterans and a great meal provided by the Rajkovich family.

Flight for Vietnam Veterans aboard the UH-1H "Huey" helicopter given on Welcome Home Vietnam Veterans Day, March 31, 2012. This group of veterans were taken for a tour of the San Francisco /Oakland Bay Area.
Salute To Excellence
February 13th, 2012Vietnam Helicopters group receives the 2012 Eurocopter Golden Hour Award for performing lifesaving operations with a helicopter after airplane crash at 2011 National Championship Air Races in Reno Nevada. The restored Vietnam era Huey UH-1H was used for emergency medevac operations of four injured spectators after the accident. Two were critically injured and two were ambulatory, all four survived.
